Colored Canyon Salama 5 in 1 from Sharm El Sheikh

Salama Canyon is a naturally formed (most likely as a result of an earthquake) giant gap in the sandy rocks of a well-preserved ancient seabed. Over the course of several centuries, water and wind carved a hole in the red sandstone. During rains (it rains on average 4 times a year), the canyon, which usually dries out throughout the year, is flooded with water. The water then flows into the wadi (dry river) Wadi Watir. Rocks of multi-colored sandstone (from white to bright red) interspersed with granite, cobalt, copper and ancient corals give the canyon its name. The color of the rocks in some places is very bright with a prismatic metallic sheen; in other places the color of the stone is very soft and delicate. The sandstones that make up the canyon are painted in various colors - red, pink, yellow, gray, purple, white.
